Ciao a tutti!
I’m excited to introduce my new project: the Buonvento Italian Citizenship blog.
This blog was born out of the idea to share a bit of my journey seeking recognition of Italian citizenship, and to share with you the lessons I’ve learned after years studying the steps and process to achieve this goal. Of course, I’ll also provide important tips so you’ll know where to start and won’t waste as much time as I did.
I also want to tell you a little about the work I’ve been doing recently as a researcher and consultant, helping others achieve their dream of becoming Italian citizens.
Ah… but I can’t start without saying that all of this is very new to me, okay? Honestly, it’s a "blank page"! This is not only my first blog, but I never imagined myself working in this field. I began by guiding a few friends purely for the pleasure of helping them chase the dream of moving to a new country and finding better opportunities for life and work..
And it was then, feeling fulfilled by contributing to these life changes, that I realized I could pursue this professionally — using my experience as a consultant in public relations and government liaison work to handle the paperwork with agencies and authorities in Italy.
And here we are now… where I’m challenging myself not to let ideas die while waiting for the “perfect moment” to put them into action.
Believe me, it wasn’t easy. Starting with the blog name — it took days to decide. I always wanted something that would connect to my ancestors’ story, and I think I managed that:
“Buon vento” means “good winds,” something close to "Benevento," a province in Campania (southern Italy) where my great-grandparents came from. But more than that, it means a breath of fresh air towards better opportunities through the achievement of Italian citizenship! Maybe it’s not the best or most creative name… but I overcame the uncertainty and decided to make it happen.
And now it’s your turn: if you have Italian ancestry or have heard stories that your grandparents, great-grandparents, great-great-grandparents, or even great-great-great-grandparents came from Italy, but you still think it’s impossible to get information, or you’ve never really thought about how this could impact your life, I invite you to stay here and subscribe to follow the upcoming posts.
From now on, know that you have the right to reclaim your roots and be recognized as an Italian citizen! And if you need a little help along the way, count on me!!
Arrivederci,
